I decided to go on an adventure; find the Grindcore House and see if I could somehow get any tickets to Laura’s show there. The Grindcore House is a really nice little cafe. The workers were very friendly, but said that the show was definitely sold out. I was a bit bummed, but I really liked the place so I got something to drink and sat around to draw for awhile. Long story short, Laura came in about 2 hours before her show started to get some coffee. I (eventually) got up the courage to talk to her.
I thanked her for her music. I told her that it made me a stronger person. I’m so glad I got the chance to say that to her; I’ve wanted to for a long time.
She was absolutely lovely; quiet but not at all off-putting; we ended up chatting for a bit before I had to leave so the staff could set up for the show. And this is what she wrote in my Moleskine notebook - somehow making me love her even more.
